About The Long Knives
Post-Punk/Indie Rockers, The Long Knives from Pittsburgh, PA have been laying down their dark and catchy tracks for close to a decade.  Formed in 2007 as the solo project of Guitarist/Vocalist, Duke Destiny and the addition of Drummer SnK in 2009 the band has played hundreds of shows all over the US and Europe.  The band has 2 Studio Releases (“Holy Ghost Points” in 2013 and “By Hook Or By Crook in 2015) , and a live LP from Germany that they have released, and will be going into the studio later in the year to record their third album, “Fractured Fairy Tales”.  The band has also been featured on several compilation releases from Raw Guru Records and Patetico Recordings, and most recently have had songs on compilations to benefit Earthquake victims in Nepal and Ecuador.  The Long Knives feature Duke Destiny’s rare vocals and searing work on the 12-String electric.  Duke is one of the few performers in the world who uses the 12-String exclusively, packing together tight riffs and blaring leads that have often been compared to the work of such Indie guitar heroes Bob Mould and J. Mascis.  Duke’s vocals have drawn comparisons to Lyle Lovett, Elvis Presley, and Jeffrey Lee Pierce.  Entwined with Drummer SnK's speedy, ruthless, hypnotic rhythms, pounding the skins like the demon child of Sam Henry and Dave Grohl, The Long Knives have a sound that is all it's own. Unique, intense, heavy, melodic accompanied with provocative lyrics touching on many topics.    The Long Knives have played with many acts over the years, national touring artists along with up & coming artists all over US and Europe. The band is known for their loud and intense live shows, and is catching on more and more to ears that discover it.  Featured multiple times in the Pittsburgh Magazine, Pittsburgh Music Report, and appearing on numerous radio stations and Internet radio.  The Long Knives were also named one of the Bands To Watch in 2014 from Rolling Stone Online, drawing comparisons to early Sonic Youth, The Deftones, Joy Division, Jesus and Mary Chain and many others.
