What would change in your life if you genuinely believed that God is always with you? How would this impact how you respond to the fear that swirls around?  The world around us wants us to walk in an element of fear. The challenge with fear is that it will keep us from the fullness of our relationship with God. Fear will cause us to become powerless and abort the wonders of the Kingdom of Heaven.  In Psalm 34, we are reminded that we seek God; he answers and delivers. In the book of Matthew, we have Jesus calming a storm and the disciples trying to figure out who he is. What is the church shouting to the world?  What are you shouting to the world?  The church of Jesus Christ should herald the heart of Jesus, which longs to receive sinners into His family. Those who come to Him will not be cast out! But no religious elite should feel smugly comfortable in the church.  Keys:  Crowds hang around Jesus - come and go. How do you view life? What is the call on your life? How do you evaluate that call? In the early 1900s, a shepherd had an assignment and a vision. His little, daily action steps changed the atmosphere of his neck of the woods. His work didn't look large or daunting. Literally, he planted one seed at a time as he executed his vision. He knew many seeds would not survive, but that didn't change his determination. When God gives us a vision, it can look daunting. Do you dump salt on your food before you taste it? In Matthew 5:13, we are told that we are the salt of the Earth. However, I suggest we do not understand what that means in our daily lives. Is it right to question authority? Of course, there are times, seasons, and individuals when we need to act with wisdom and question authority. However, there are also times when we should not question authority. In other words, it is right and good to question authority until it is not! We live in a world that is full of sham authority. We need the wisdom of Heaven to know what to question and what not to question. We can get so trapped in our self-importance that we can ask the wrong questions if our heart is not aligned with a Kingdom mindset. In Mark 11, we meet a group of religious leaders so trapped in their religious traditions and importance that they questioned Jesus with the wrong motives. What can we learn from this group of religious leaders, so we do not repeat their mistakes? We are in a season where we need a spirit of wisdom and discernment to flow within our lives. What is your favorite food? What is your favorite beverage? What is Jesus talking about when He teaches that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled? We are called to have a desire or hunger for the things of God. We are called to have a passion or hunger for a relationship with God. We are called to have a desire or appetite for the Word of God. When we hunger and thirst for righteousness, it is not in vain, for it comes with a promise that God will fulfill that desire. What is your definition of meek? I think of timid and quiet, however, that is not Jesus definition. To be meek is to: - not blow up easily - be humble and submissive to God Do you struggle with being meek? Imagine Jesus telling his disciples they are blessed when they mourn. How would you respond if you were in the crowd listening to the teaching? Depending on how you understand the word "mourn," you may lean in to hear more or back off because you believe it is too painful. As used here, to "mourn" is to recognize our shortcomings before God. We mourn over our choices that result in sin rather than freedom. When we learn to mourn God's way, it opens the door for the promises of Heaven to come flooding into our lives. Is your wineskin able to stretch, or has it become brittle and easily broken? Jesus tells us that we cannot put new wine into old skins. We can quickly lose this meaning in translation, especially if we do not work with animal skins. The key is that we cannot hold what God is doing in and through us today if we are holding on to the old nature rather than embracing the fullness of God. When you open your Bible to the book of Genesis it begins with “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). However, a 1991 Gallup poll found that some 90% of American’s believed that God created the world in some manner. However, by 2019 that number fell to 40% and continues to fall today.  As we read through the book of Genesis we see intent, order, and purpose within each day of creation. God planned each step, there was nothing random or haphazard about creation.  The truth is, if we don’t believe that God created absolutely everything, but himself, with no exception, then we cannot believe that God is sovereign. Do you worship in spirit? Do you worship in truth?  In John 4, we find Jesus in the conversation with a Samaritan woman. Several years ago, I released a word on Elijah List titled "It's Time to Come Out of the Dung Heap." Our neighbor is a very gifted general contractor. The other day I went to his house to see what he was doing. He was cutting grooves in some wood so they would fit together. This wood was costly, had a specific purpose, and was well oiled. How do you respond when the wind blows? Your response depends on the type of wind. If a storm is blowing in, most people will run for cover. What is the language of Heaven? Is the language of Heaven rules and regulations? Is the language of Heaven judgment or love? Is the language of Heaven rooted in defeat or saturated in victory? When was the last time you listened to a friend in need and just rattled off “God will supply all your needs” to them and walked away? When was the last time that happened to you? This morning I heard a question resound from the Throne Room of Heaven “Where is the extra oil?”. Immediately I understood that the Lord is looking at His people to see who has the extra oil for their lamps and who does not. He is looking to see who is prepared and who is lacking. 

What does it look like to walk in wisdom and experience unity? In the book of Judges, we meet a woman named Deborah. She was a prophet and a judge, a woman of power and authority. Deborah, as a prophet, had an ear turned to the Lord. She heard His voice and knew His plans. She was able to work with a military commander and win battles. The prophetic gifting has come under a fair amount of scrutiny recently. In the current season, questions and outweigh the answers. Also, people that we have trusted are divided on where they stand with the prophetic. In God’s economy, there are things that we can learn in every season of life. Even the bumpy seasons. Lean back, listen in, and ponder the prophetic with this episode of Real Truth with Ruth.

What does it mean to you to take steps forward in work, with family, or with God? Do the little steps matter at all? We often don’t see forward movement because we are too busy talking and not busy enough moving. Those small steps do matter!

There are times when I shake my head at God. How about you? When Scripture states that my ways are not His ways, I want to shout amen! God, in His infinite wisdom, can seem to create confusion in my life. However, God is not a God of confusion. How do we handle seasons of our lives where God doesn’t seem to make sense?

Have you ever attempted to run from God? I sure have. Interestingly enough, it usually doesn’t work out too well. It’s time to wave the white flag and do it God’s way.

Do you ever feel like you don’t measure up? I don’t think we realize how much our attitude matters or how much our belief system matters. If we want to measure up we need to switch our measuring stick and use the right one.

God will make our path narrower and narrower until He gets our attention. What does this mean in our lives, and how do we recognize God’s way versus our course.  

Sometimes we don’t realize what we have in our hand, the seed God has given intentionally placed there. We feel the lack because we see from the wrong perspective. In the hands of the living God, that single seed can become a mighty plant. However, for that seed to grow, we have to release it.

Although I had been a Christian for years, I did not know that I should stay in that moment until the presence of the Lord lifted. So, what did I do? I went back to bed. God takes our missteps and turns them into excellent teaching opportunities. God delights in our asking questions! The catch is that He also sees the basis or root of the question. Is the question coming from a place of unbelief or an area seeking to understand and partner with Him?   

The season in the soaking room was to prepare us for the war room. The sword of a warrior does not do any good in its sheath when you are on the battlefield. You must draw your sword and take back the ground. 

Contending can be a challenge! And, when we are contending for the things of God, it can seem even more elusive and challenging. However, God has invited us on a journey to find buried treasure and pearls of great price. How do we effectively contend for the things of God?

Don’t talk to fear but talk to faith. Often this is easier said than done. The Lord has been talking to me recently about navigating the uncertain seasons of life. This includes political unrest, issues around health and pandemics, financial challenges and more.

Choosing God’s wisdom over our wisdom can be difficult. In fact, at times, it can go against everything in us. And yet, when we choose his wisdom, he breaks the shackles off our feet and leads us into truth.

As believers, it is imperative that we see past the natural realm and into Heavenly realms. Not only is it critical, but it is also our right. As sons and daughters of the living God, it is our honor and privilege to view life from a different perspective. How do we train ourselves to see what God is doing?  

Do you feel like you are in the background? That's not a bad place to be IF that is where God wants to use you. Andrew was a disciple of Jesus Christ, and yet he is one that we don't know much about. However, we know that he impacted the Kingdom because he was right where God had created him to be.

Developing an attitude of thanksgiving can be difficult or easy, depending on the season. It is an area that we all need to grow in. Why? Because when our focus has a direct impact on the decisions we make and how we navigate life. Yes, there is a path that we can navigate that leads us into heartfelt thanksgiving.  

God sees, therefore there is always HOPE! How can we learn to train ourselves to become increasingly sensitive to hearing the voice of God? Is it possible for His whisper to drown out all other voices?

Do you feel like you have dreams from God that are dead? Dive into the account of Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones but with a twist. What can we learn from the process that God took Ezekiel through?

Think of the last time you were out walking, and something caught your eye. What happens at that moment? Do you stop or keep going? What are the thoughts and questions that run through your mind? I hear the Courts of Heaven sounding an alarm. Immediately I am reminded of a smoke alarm going off to warn us that there is smoke, and where there is smoke, there is often fire. I hear God saying that "My people are at a critical moment and how they handle this moment, as the body ofChrist, will impact whether the church moves forward or becomes silent."

As I was preparing this, I could see us standing, looking at a vast mountain range. The Lord reached down, His hand reached down, and as His hand descended, the mountain was put into perspective. That mountain was tiny when compared to the Hand of the Lord. A word from the Lord shared at a Women in Ministry Network gathering in September 2020 He says shift your vision. We need to see the mountain through a different lens to see the size's reality from His perspective.

A prophetic word that the Lord gave Ruth on October 8, 2020. “Tell them to be strong, but not only to be strong but to trust that I am there to give the strength that is needed. That strength isnot only for this moment but also for the battles that are yet to come...

We all want to be the hero in the story. To be the victor is always preferable to playing the part of the victim. However, we can have areas of our lives where we succumb and find ourselves the victim rather than the victor. When we operate out of a victim mindset, it is impossible to rise to the fullness to which God has called us. We are called to warriors for the Kingdom of Heaven. It is time to get out of the muddy victim pit, get washed off, and stand tall. We can only carry the fullness of Christ when we have His mindset and no other.

Feel like your walk with God is buffering? God has created us to be in a life-giving relationship with Him. However, we all have seasons where there seems to be static in that relationship. It’s time to fine-tune that reception.

We all have walls that we hide behind to feel safe. However, is this God’s plan? It is difficult to soar with Eagles when we are hiding behind walls of self-protection. Today, Ruth will share four keys to taking down those walls and soaring to new heights.

There are so many times where we don’t measure up by the world’s standards. We don’t have the right background, the proper degree, or the right job. However, God can take the most unqualified person and make them the hero of the story.

Ever had one of those seasons when you are in the wrong place, doing the wrong thing and your praise is stolen? The demonic have an ongoing assignment to steal or redirect our praise. And, they will go to great lengths to undermine our testimony. If you are anything like me, you need “but God” moments in your life.

What is the basis for my who I am? How much has the cultural system, political system, or religious system woven its way into my belief system? To effectively look at what is happening in our churches, I must look first within myself. I cannot be part of the solution if I have inadvertently become part of the problem.

Some leaders are easy to pray for; however, others are difficult. We can end up cursing rather than a blessing. Does this matter? Our prayers make more of a difference than we realize. Jeremiah, the Lord sends a powerful message to the people who are in exile. He says, “Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.” (Jeremiah 29:7b). How we pray does make a difference.

Some people seem to hear the voice of God clearly while others struggle. Yet, we’d all agree that we are created to be in relationship with our creator. Furthermore, it is impossible to have a relationship without some form of communication. What can we learn from Eli and Samuel that will help us in our journey to hear the voice of the Lord?

Is this a test? Have you ever asked God that question? I sure have. There are days that I wonder what is up with life and why something is happening. There are times when I wonder if and why I am being tested. I am not a fan of test-taking. Yes, it is part of our walk with the Lord. In James, we find the concept of passing the test with faith. What does that mean, and how do we get there?

Do you ever wish that God would hold up a cue card, to know what to do? I sure do! There are moments when differing opinions, prophetic words, and confusion seems to reign. As Paul makes his journey to Jerusalem, he had to navigate some of these very same things. What can we learn from him to help us navigate successfully with or without cue cards from God?

Have you heard the saying,  “God will not give us more than we can handle?” It can feel like a losing battle. However, what does the Word of God say? What do we need to know to have victory over temptation?

How often do you feel like you are running ahead of God? What about falling behind God? Do you ever feel like you just don’t fit in or you don’t belong? The very moment when everything is falling apart, maybe a transition moment that will take you into the plans that God has and reveal the timing component for His perfect plan?

Recently I took my computer in to have it serviced. The technician replaced the keyboard and did several other things with the hardware. However, in the process, they also upgraded the operating system and wiped the drive. When I get it home, I restored the drive from the back-up but eventually discovered a malfunction. Here is my question what happens when an upgrade from God malfunctions or does it? Where is the actual malfunction?
