In addition we get into a debate around Financial Fair Play and Sustainability Rules .. which I can tell you continued for another hour after the show ended as Dan didnt think he made his point well... what he was saying is that smaller clubs come up, they spend big to stay up Eg: Nottingham Forest they achieve it but face sanctions or they do not do that and they go right back down... Burnley, Sheffield Utd and Luton... so these rules are just ring fencing the league... its an interesting perspective, not one I share as I feel if a club is run correctly growth can happen it just takes time - but we football fans want results NOW!!! Which I also get... So, was a fun debate... if you want to chime in please do but remember the rules.. I have the mic so i am right ha ha All joking aside how is everyone? Hello.  Sadly today is not the day to be fixating on football.  The Tottenham family lost first team fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone today, aged 61. The Italian coach had worked and been friends with Antonio Conte for over 20 years and had been at the club since Conte's arrival last season.  His sad passing means that this week, this episode of the Spurs News podcast is our shortest and is just a quick tribute to him. We will be back next week to our regular over analysing of football but for this week we encourage everyone to take the time to focus on their friends and family, maybe make the call you have not made in a while. -Sam, Matt, Dan & Laura.

In other news Matt is still a running machine, loves his marathons. It was during lockdown he went full Mo Farah, did the couch to 5k and then just kept running... I ran a bath the other day, knackered... Polynesian Dan is also well but I think he needs to sort it out a bit, been with his Mrs years and lived together a good while now but no ring... Beyonce would be livid... he needs to put a ring on it I think. I should tell him... maybe... I dunno... I remember him showing me his current GF when he first met her on Tinder, yeah.. THAT app... I do not have any news really, been working a lot.. trying to get that work life balance ya know, never easy... Can you believe its May already? I swear part of me still thinks its 2020 and lockdown threw me for a trip! Time has moved fast but then also feels like stuck; just me? ... on the fact its May though only four games left in our season, just a few more weeks. That is utter madness. I bloody hate the term Spursy.  It winds me up, always has.  The fact we as fans coined it and then the media jumped on it - even seeing a bloody definition online and in damn dictionaries as a mocking of my club grates but at the same time I sat trying to name this podcast and everything I came up with was... the good and the bad... or Jekyll and Hyde... or up and down.... and then I realised no no, just one word sums up our performances over the last two games.  Spursy. Its a semi final ... I have lost count how many of these bastards we have lost over the years... also, anyone else think two leg semi finals in a domestic cup competition is kinda pointless and should be scraped? Its just an extra game which the players could do without. The team who had a better goal difference from their quarter final win gets home stadium advantage for the semi final, would encourage attacking play in the quarter finals etc and also would cut down on games. Anyway, will never happen, the extra game is televised and football in essence is dark relationship with Sky TV... having a bit of an affair with BT Sports but Sky TV still in charge. Welcome one and all to the 20th episode of the Spurs News Podcast, if you have listended since Episode 1 you are probably related to one of us so a big thank you and if you are new then welcome and we hope you enjoy! This show the running order and subjects researched and carefully planned were thrown out and episode 20 will now forever be know as the episode where Sam lost his sh*t on the podcast or the podcast of rants. As I upload this podcast and write these notes which very few people read my mind does tend to wander. Mid term elections in the US soon, could be interesting... apparently poor young Selene Gomez is struggling with her mental health... I read an article that scientists have developed an organic matter printer which will enable food to be "printed" ... could be an end of World Hunger? more like every bar in the world suddenly has built in burger printers. Our very own Matt sat down with club legend Paul 'Maxi' Miller to discuss all things Tottenham both past and present. The chat brought up some rare gems of information including how an England legend is the reason Paul ended up at Spurs despite when 10 years old was with Chelsea's academy. Now, here is an apology. The interview was outside and therefore the sound quality is not the best. Between planes over head, London traffic, a bar emptying out glass on three occasions and what at one time sounds like a gun shot.... (I am assured it was not) there is plenty in the background to distract but the content of the chat is brilliant so we hope you enjoy.

This weeks podcast it is Sam and Dan (as Matt preps for his next interview tomorrow) and they talk mostly the Barcelona game and the positives that can be taken although keep in mind Sam went to Wembley and had a rail replacement bus service on the way home *face palm* Also the sound is a little off, sorry. FIGHT! This week Sam and Matt argue; it is awesome. I mean sadly I had to edit the bit where Matt questioned Sam's parentage and Sam implied Matt's gender at birth may have been different but I left in the majority of there back and forth for you all to enjoy. Me and my daughter made them, she really liked them so thank you. She is a bit grumpy, just turned ten and the reality has hit her she is back to school soon and its the last year before "big school" and now I have said that I feel old. However we all know you are here just to see what I write. Well this week nothing that amazing. I am pretty tired. Took me two hours to edit this podcast and even then I sound rubbish, sorry about that, I think I have a cold coming. There is a competition to win a new shirt, you need to rate us 5 stars and write a nice review with the phrase this podcast is so good I don't need 8 winks or something like that... I have forgotten already. Anyone have any good brownie recipes by the way? My daughter wants to make some, sure I could look it up online or in one of the 10 cook books I have... where is the fun in that? ANYWAY I digress, enjoy the podcast and be kind to one another.

This week the main focus is on the new stadium delays, Sam knows a guy... and really he does, not joking. So some insight given as to what has happened with the build that is slightly away from the narrative of the press and many angry fans. Away from the stadium Sam and Dan discuss Matt getting a tattoo, the players in the squad and look ahead to Fulham. This is probably the most serious one of these descriptions I have ever written... Dan said while recording his girlfriend sounds like a country bumpkin when she talks; however I was nice and cut it out so she will never know... unless she reads this... ooops. Also I mention Laura again, the fourth and most mysterious Spurs News admin. She turns 40 next week :) Okay okay its not 40 but it is her birthday next week so everyone be nice.

This week Matt is joined by DAN .. someone new!! Which is odd really as its me Sam still editing and writing this. So, I have no idea what they talked about. I heard clips as I went through sure and they sound good however I had a good day. My daughter turned 10, we did the whole cake and party thing.. she got lots of nice presents including a new Spurs shirt. I posted out our first competition winners shirt also.
