Therefore the acceptance of Islam is premised on whether one believes that God exists. If this belief isn’t justified then belief in Islam would also not be justified. However if God does exist then this forms part of the justification for Islam.    This then becomes the most important discussion when engaging with an atheist and other aspects of Islam would come after this belief in God is established.
